How It Works

 How will LNG be stored/transferred/regasified?

  • The floating LNG terminal will be anchored to the ocean floor in about 150 feet of water.
  • LNG ships will moor at the terminal about twice a week to offload LNG supplies.
  • Inside the double hull of the floating ocean terminal, insulated tanks will store the LNG at atmospheric pressure. Heaters on the deck of the ocean terminal will warm the LNG to turn it back into natural gas for pipeline delivery to market.
  • Once regasified, the natural gas will flow from the ocean terminal through a new subsea pipeline to new and existing onshore natural gas pipelines. The pipeline routing will be determined during the permitting process.
