Safety is a top priority and fundamental to everything we do.
We are committed to the safe operation of BlueOcean Energy LNG facilities, LNG ships and natural gas pipelines.
The LNG and natural gas pipeline industries have a proven strong safety record. There have been more than 45,000 LNG ship deliveries worldwide over the past 40 years covering more than 100 million miles without a breach or failure of a cargo tank or a significant LNG release.
Trained and qualified personnel, coupled with detailed systems and best practices, will provide for the safe design, construction and operation of BlueOcean Energy facilities.
The floating offshore terminal and LNG ships will be designed with multiple levels of safety, environmental and security protection. The floating terminal and LNG ships will be designed with double hulls, insulated tanks and monitoring and emergency systems for safety and cargo protection.
We are conducting safety analyses of LNG facilities, LNG shipping, and new pipelines, and the BlueOcean Energy project design will reflect those findings.
Safety evaluations will continue throughout the construction and operation of the facilities.
The Deepwater Port Act licensing process, which includes coordination with the FERC and state agencies, requires rigorous safety assessments of LNG terminals and ships.
Federal and state agencies, led by the U.S. Coast Guard, will approve the project only after rigorous independent assessments determine that it can be operated safely.
BlueOcean Energy will work with the Coast Guard to determine appropriate measures to provide for the safe movement of LNG ships and the safe and secure operation of the floating terminal.
We will work with local, state and federal authorities to provide for public safety and to develop comprehensive emergency response plans.
The terminal will include fire protection systems, redundant fire and gas protection alarm systems, and automated and manual emergency shutdown systems.
