A Rutgers' University study, conducted by the prestigious Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy, concluded that the proposed BlueOcean Energy LNG project would have significant benefits for the New Jersey economy.
Rutgers estimated that during the anticipated 30-year life of the LNG facilities, the cumulative economic impacts would include aproximately:
• $3.1 billion in new GDP for the state;
• $1.5 billion in compensation for the direct and indirect jobs generated by the terminal's construction and operation;
• Nearly $400 million in state and local tax revenues.
